A designer and a writer from Brooklyn wed in Charleston. A marriage of two cities, two cultures, and two distinct aesthetics. New Yorkers are notorious for their restrained use of color. The wedding honored that tradition with a minimalist palette, using neutral tones and one primary color—red. An energetic, passionate, extra-loud color of love. A Southern sensibility was introduced via vintage photos of the Holy City, sourced from the Library of Congress. The images invoked the history of the city, while honoring the limited color palette of the event.
Designed in lieu of a traditional invitation suite, this custom book offered guests a personal guide to a wedding weekend. It featured detailed information about all events and curated recommendations for accommodations, restaurants, and activities in Charleston. An artifact that guests could display and reference for years to come.
